Before you write

The fastest way is Settings → Help & Support → Contact Support inside the app: it opens an email with the app version, build, OS version, device and language already filled in. If you write from elsewhere, please include:

  • Platform and app version (Settings → App & Updates)
  • Which AI or speech provider you use, and the model, if the issue is about analysis or the coach
  • What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead — a screenshot helps

Frequently asked

Is Ayuvo free?

Yes. No subscriptions, credits or in-app purchases. AI features use an API key you create with a provider; any usage is billed by that provider, never by Ayuvo.

Which AI can I use?

Google Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, OpenRouter, Together AI, Groq, Hugging Face, Fireworks AI, DeepInfra, Mistral, DeepSeek, Cerebras, Ollama or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. On supported phones, on-device models such as Gemma 4 E2B and MedGemma 1.5 4B run on the phone itself; iPhones can also use Apple Intelligence as a fallback.

Where is my data?

In the app's storage on your phone. There is no Ayuvo account or server. Data leaves the device only when you act — see the Privacy Policy.

Does the coach see my health data?

Only while "Let Coach use my health data" is on. It is shown at every connect step and in Settings → Health & Data.

How do backups work?

Off by default. iPhone uses your private iCloud database, Android your Google Drive app folder. Backups never include the health hub database or coach chat.

Which languages?

18: English, Arabic, Azerbaijani, Czech, Dutch, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Romanian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish and Ukrainian. The app follows your phone's language.

Troubleshooting

"401", "403" or "invalid key" from the AI provider

The key is missing, mistyped or belongs to another product. Open Settings → AI Providers, paste the key again and make sure the provider and model match the key. Most providers show usage and limits in their own console.

"429" or "quota exceeded"

Your provider's free tier or rate limit is exhausted. Ayuvo retries transient overloads automatically; a persistent 429 means the provider account needs credit or a slower pace. A fallback provider can be configured in Settings.

Health Connect is missing or out of date (Android)

Health Connect is part of Android 14+ and a Play Store app on Android 9–13. The Health tab's Connect button opens the right screen; if it says "not installed", install or update Health Connect from Google Play, then grant the categories you want Ayuvo to read.

Apple Health shows nothing (iPhone)

Open the Health app → Sharing → Apps & Services → Ayuvo and turn on the categories you want to share. Reads that were denied show as "Nothing shared yet" in Ayuvo. On iOS 27 a "past 30 days" grant limits history; grant full history from the same screen.

Ollama on your local network

Enter the base URL of your Ollama server (for example http://192.168.1.20:11434/v1) under Settings → AI Providers → Ollama. Plain HTTP is allowed only for local-network addresses; everything else must use HTTPS. iPhone will ask for Local Network permission once.

On-device models and storage

Gemma 4 E2B is about 2.6 GB, MedGemma 1.5 4B about 3 GB and Whisper Base about 150 MB. Models download only when you tap Download and can be removed from the same screen to free space. A phone with less memory than a model needs still lists it, together with the reason it is blocked. The full list is on the on-device AI page.

MedGemma asks for a Hugging Face token

MedGemma is a gated download: Google requires you to accept its Health AI Developer Foundations terms on the model's Hugging Face page first. Create a free Hugging Face account, accept the terms, create an access token with read access and paste it into the on-device models settings. Ayuvo sends the token only to Hugging Face, and only for gated downloads. Without it the MedGemma row stays listed but blocked.

Your data

  • Export: Settings → Data Management exports the food diary (JSON, CSV or Markdown) and the Health hub (an ayuvo-health-data zip).
  • Switch phones: Settings → Data Management → Export All Data on the old phone, then Import All Data (or "Restore from a backup" while setting up Ayuvo) on the new one, iPhone to Android or Android to iPhone. See Move between iPhone and Android for what carries over and what deliberately does not, such as API keys.
  • Delete everything: Settings → Delete All Data wipes the app's local storage on this device. It does not delete Apple Health / Health Connect samples, nor backups you keep in iCloud or Google Drive (delete those from the same Settings screen).
  • Revoke Health access: iPhone: Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Ayuvo. Android: Health Connect → App permissions → Ayuvo.
  • Turn off cloud backup: Settings → Data Management → Cloud Backup, then "Delete cloud backup" if you want the stored archive gone too.
